CCA’s Specks and Spots tourney set for July 13 at Cypremort Point

Four-man teams compete for more than $15,000 in cash and prizes

The Coastal Conservation Association of Louisiana is hosting a Specks and Spots Tournament from Quintana Landing in Cypremort Point on Saturday, July 13.

Tournament registration is $150 for each four-man team, and all participants (adult or youth) must be members in good standing with CCA.

“We’re doing two things with the tournament,” said Nolan Reynerson, assistant director of CCA-Louisiana. “First, it’s a membership driver for us to encourage people to join. And, a majority of the proceeds will benefit the Boy Scouts of America  Swamp Base Program.”

More than $15,000 in prizes will be awarded, including $2,500 each for the two heaviest speckled trout and the two heaviest slot redfish. The Top 10 winners in each division will be paid.

Fishing starts at 6 a.m., with weigh-in scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. by boat only at the Quintana Pavilion at Cypremort Point.

Registration for $150 will continue through July 11, but you can register on July 12 until 8 p.m. for $175. To sign up for the tournament, or for information on joining CCA, go to www.ccalouisiana.com.
