Bassmaster Classic information available on dedicated page

The Bassmaster Classic is arguably the biggest bass-fishing championship in the world, and it’s coming to New Orleans Feb. 18-20. To provide continuous updates about all the festivities, LouisianaSportsman.com has launched a section dedicated to the tournament.

“This is such an important event that we wanted to accumulate all Classic information in once place so our users can go to one place and learn everything they need to know,” LouisianaSportsman.com’s Andy Crawford said. “It’s really one-stop Classic shopping.”

The Bassmaster Classic Updates section will feature top news about the event, photo and video galleries, a full list of competitor bios and (once the event begins) daily results.

The page has an RSS feed to make keeping up with the Classic news easier, and the special section can always be located in the drop-down menu under “Fishing” and “News” in the top nav of the site.

“Actual competition takes place over three days, but the Classic is much larger than those three days,” Crawford said. “There will be a constant stream of news, video and activities leading up to the tournament, and we’ll be covering it all on this one page of the site.”

Bios of the competitors are available in two forms: A rotating “Featured Bassmaster Competitor” section in the upper right-hand portion of the page and a full competitors list accessible via a link just above the top story.

“The rotating ‘Featured Competitor’ will provide some raw information about competitors, with a link to learn more about that particular angler’s fishing history,” Crawford explained. “If you want to peruse the entire roster, just go to the competitors page and you can access the same information.”

Some areas of the special section, such as the photo and video galleries, will grow as the championship approaches, so be sure and check back regularly.

Of course, once competition begins, results will be featured on the section and daily email blasts will provide instant access to all the new information.

“We want to keep everyone informed about how the event is progressing, so it’s a good idea to bookmark the page,” Crawford suggested.

The page also includes a link to the site’s Bassmaster Classic VIP Experience Giveaway, which provide some very special prizes to three of our users.

“On Feb. 11, we’ll be drawing for two special packages that include reserved floor seating for the weigh-ins, a backstage tour and lots of B.A.S.S. merchandise,” Crawford said. “And then, after the tournament concludes, we’ll draw for a once-in-a-lifetime fishing trip with Louisiana’s own Greg Hackney, who is fishing his ninth Classic this year.

“That fishing trip is a great opportunity to learn from one of the best bass anglers in the world.”

The fishing trip also will be filmed for airing on Louisiana Sportsman TV.

“The VIP giveaway is certainly something you don’t want to miss, so be sure and register for the drawings,” Crawford said.
