
Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents cited a subject for alleged charter guide violations in St. Bernard Parish on April 4.
Agents cited Jason Lowrance, 40, of Metairie, for guiding without a charter guide license, not possessing basic or saltwater fishing licenses, and no current insurance.
While on patrol near Shell Beach, agents observed Lowrance actively operating his vessel in Bayou Yscloskey with multiple subjects on board. Agents made contact with Lowrance and confirmed he was actively guiding without a Louisiana Charter Guide license, current insurance and basic and saltwater fishing licenses.
Violating charter boat regulations carries a $400 to $950 fine and up to 120 days in jail. Not possessing basic or saltwater fishing licenses brings up to a $50 fine for each offense.
