Dubuc, LouisianaSportsman.com to discuss DU impacts on hunting

Radio personality Don Dubuc will host Ducks Unlimited staffers on his “More Outdoors” show tomorrow morning (Feb. 5) to discuss the impacts on hunting of DU work. LouisianaSportsman.com’s Andy Crawford also will be a guest on the show.

The show airs from 7 to 9 a.m. on WWL ESPN 1350 AM and streams live on http://www.dontheoutdoorsguy.com/ under the “Radio Show Times” link.

The topics will include a “frank and accurate discussion” of DU’s impact on waterfowl populations and hunting, discussions of the views of LouisianaSportsman.com users and responses from DU biologists Jerry Holden and Mike Checkett.

“This is an important issue for our many duck-hunting users, so it’s important to hear from those working in the trenches at DU,” Crawford said. “There is a lot of debate on our waterfowl forum about DU work, and this is a great opportunity for use to get answers.”

Also addressed will be myths, rumors and truths about DU’s management philosophy and the organization’s future projects.

Of course, phone lines will be open for callers to participate in the discussion and to present questions to Holden and Checkett.

Call 504.260.3776 or 866.644.9762 during show times to be included in the program.

“Don’t miss this opportunity to ask questions from these guys,” Crawford said. “They are both extremely knowledgeable about and involved with the on-the-ground work DU is involved with.

“So you won’t be speaking to PR folks: Mike and Jerry are biologists who are deeply involved in how DU approaches waterfowl conservation.”
