The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission (LWFC) approved a Declaration of Emergency (DE) establishing 2025-26 hunting seasons for Flatwoods Savanna and Bogue Chitto Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs). The action came Thursday (Sept. 4) during the commission’s monthly meeting in Baton Rouge.
Both WMAs were adopted into the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) WMA system on July 8. The DE is for the 2025-26 season only.
Both WMAs will hold archery only deer seasons and offer small game hunting opportunities. Flatwoods Savanna WMA, in Allen Parish, is located in Deer Area 3. Bogue Chitto WMA, in Washington Parish, is in Deer Area 4. To see the full DE go to https://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/
