Input sought for deer-season changes proposed for much of state

Hunters in Areas 1 and 6, constituting all of Southeast Louisiana, would be able to hunt through Feb. 15 if changes proposed by the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission are ultimately adopted.

The changes also would cover much of the Mississippi and Tensas deltas.

Commissioners announced the proposals after evidence was presented that hunters in those areas of the state could miss much of the rut.
