Everything Archery

Sleep in, let the boats clear out and then head down to Black Bay for some fast trout action.

Brad Ripp is the owner of Louisiana Outdoors, an archery pro shop in Pearl River, La.

Originally from the West Bank of New Orleans, Brad’s family moved to the rural setting of Pearl River at age 12 and he fell in love with everything outdoors.

After a bad case of buck fever and a relay of misses at age 16 with an old .30/30, Brad tried out a bow, fell upon success, and hasn’t hunted deer with a gun in over 23 years.

He earned his degree at the United States Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego at 18, and retired from active duty in 2007.

Being addicted to archery, he realized his dream of opening an archery pro shop in July of 2007, and he prides himself on helping others in the sport of archery and bow hunting.

Brad enjoys the challenge of hunting public land and the quest of trophy bucks against tougher odds. Although the compound sometimes comes out when the rut kicks into high gear, Brad has gravitated primarily to hunting with traditional equipment because of the tougher challenge.

To sharpen his hunting skills, he shoots traditional 3D archery across several southern states, and is currently co-producing “Traditional Pursuit,” a DVD chronicling those adventures. He placed ninth out of 60 during the 2010 IBO Traditional World Championships.
