Bordelon also written up for failing to comply with deer tagging regulations and intentional concealment of game, LDWF says
A 60-year-old Cottonport man was cited for allegedly shooting a spotted fawn after a license and game check on Jan. 6 at Richard K. Yancey Wildlife Management Area in Concordia Parish.
Eddie Bordelon was also cited for failing to comply with deer tagging regulations, intentional concealment of game and possession of an open alcoholic container in a vehicle, according to a press release.
Agents noticed the open alcoholic container in his truck, and asked him if had killed anything, and he said he did not, the release states.
But while speaking with him, the game wardens allegedly observed the partially-open lid of an ice chest in the back of his truck with a freshly harvested spotted fawn inside.
The fawn was seized, along with Bordelon’s .45-70 rifle, the release states.
Possessing a spotted fawn brings a fine of $500 to $750 and 15 to 30 days in jail. Intentional concealment of illegal game carries a $900 to $950 fine and up to 120 days in jail. Failing to comply with deer tagging regulations brings a $100 to $350 fine and up to 60 days in jail.
Additionally, Bordelon may also face civil restitution of $1,624.61 for the illegally taken spotted fawn, according to the release.
