BIGDOGTERRITORY wins August Trail Cam Contest

Chase Martinez wins 1-year Louisiana Sportsman magazine subscription, Sportsman Gear gift coupon.

The first round of the 2011 Trail Cam Contest goes to Chase Martinez, whose entry shows an alligator seemingly guarding a feed pile.

“Well, you know (you’re) hunting the swamp when you run your cameras and get a gator sitting in your rice bran and soybeans!,” Martinez wrote in his entry titled “Swamp People trail cam.”

Martinez, who goes by the screen name “BIGDOGTERRITORY,” wins a complimentary one-year subscription to Louisiana Sportsman magazine, along with a $25 gift coupon to the online Sportsman Store.

Martinez beat out longtime member “hardware” (known to his family and friends as Felix Arceneaux) and new member “bowhunter1002.”

Arceneaux’s entry shows just a beautiful velvet buck with at least 13 points, including splits on both G2s and a drop tine, staring into the hunter’s trail camera.

Bowhunter1002’s entry shows a photo of a piebald spike captured on Aug. 17.

“Found this on my deer camera on public land that I have hunted for years and never seen anything like this,” he reported.

The Trail Cam Contest continues through the end of the year, and is open to all registered members of the SouthCarolinaSportsman.com reports forum.
