At the monthly meeting on Feb. 6 in New Orleans, the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission (LWFC) approved a Notice of Intent to extend wild alligator hunting season to Dec. 31. The extension would apply to both the West and East zones.
The season would run from the last Wednesday in August until Dec. 31 in the East Zone and from the first Wednesday of September until Dec. 31 in the West Zone. The extension would increase harvest opportunity. The season currently runs 60 days.
