Some roads reopened on Dewey Wills WMA

Roads reopened after flood waters receded, LDWF says

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries has reopened some roads in the Dewey W. Wills Wildlife Management Area that were previously closed due to flooding, according to a news release.

Opened to all traffic now are Hunt Road and Muddy Bayou Road from Hunt Road to Nolan Bayou Road, a release states.

But Sandy Bayou Road and Muddy Bayou Road from Deville Crossing to Nolan Bayou Road remain closed while repairs are made. However, users can access Sandy Bayou Road with ATVs and UTVs, the release states.

Dewey W. Wills WMA is located in the southern portion of LaSalle and Catahoula parishes in central Louisiana, approximately 20 miles northeast of Alexandria.
