Sportsman authors signing Father’s Day presents

You haven’t forgotten Dad, have you?

You remember Dad, the guy who taught you how to chunk a crankbait with a spinning rod and where exactly on a deer’s side to put those crosshairs. Well, the day set aside to honor him is rapidly approaching. It’s June 18 this year.

Do you know what you’re getting him?

If not, we’ve got a great suggestion for you.

Louisiana Sportsman Editor Todd Masson and contributor Gordon Hutchinson will be signing copies of their respective books at a Baton Rouge-area Barnes & Noble bookstore on June 11, just in time for Father’s Day.

Masson is author of “Specks: Louisiana’s top 10 trout destinations, and exactly how to fish them year-round,” which is the best-selling outdoor-related book in Bayou State history.

Hutchinson will be signing copies of his book, “The Quest and the Quarry,” a spin-off of his extremely popular “The Quest and the Quarry” and “The Season of the Booner” series in Louisiana Sportsman magazine.

The book follows the lives of a fictional family that farms and hunts a tract of land bisected by the Mississippi River. Readers gain valuable insights into the habits and tendencies of fawns, does and, most importantly, trophy bucks through Hutchinson’s nuanced tales involving several generations of whitetails.

The book signing will be at the Barnes & Noble at 2590 Citiplace Court (near College Drive) from 1 to 3 p.m.
