Price Lake Road on Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge to close April 1st 2013 until further notice

Road closure due to construction of fishing piers and walkways, the LDWF said

Visitors to Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge should be advised that a main access road top the western end of the refuge, Price Lake Road, will be closed from April 1, 2013 until further notice, the LDWF said.

Vehicular access to fishing, crabbing and shrimping areas along the road will be temporarily blocked due to the road closure.

The road closure is due to the construction of three fishing piers with extended walkways that will provide access for recreational fishing, crabbing and shrimping. Construction is projected to take approximately six months to complete, the LDWF said.

All other public roads and canals will offer alternative access points to the refuge from official sunrise to sunset. Access areas include the East End Boat Launch/Joseph Harbor Canal and East End Locks Rd. and Rollover Landing, the LDWF said.
