New web page addresses red snapper questions

New federal regulations constraining recreational fishing for red snapper in the Gulf of Mexico have raised numerous questions about the basis for the regulations and about the species’ biology.

Answers to many of these questions can now be found on the Louisiana Sea Grant Fisheries Website at http://www.seagrantfish.lsu.edu/faqs/index.html

The red snapper web page was created to assist the public in keeping informed about the issues and information relevant to red snapper in the northern Gulf of Mexico. It will, we hope, provide visitors with background on the basic issues, as well as the latest research on the species. Updates to the web page will be made as new research is published and as new questions arise.

We invite questions/comments concerning the Web page; please address all to redsnapper@lsu.edu
