Fishing tackle tent sale opens to the public April 4-6
Thursday evening is Guide Appreciation Night at Chag’s Sporting Goods in Metairie, and all licensed fishing guides are invited to attend for special factory deals and bulk pricing offers.
Ray Chagnard said factory reps will be on-site from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday, April 3, with special offers from manufacturers including Daiwa, Shimano, CastAway, H&H Lure Company, Matrix Shad and others.
“Nobody does anything like this for the guides,” Chagnard said. “And they’re the lifeblood of the industry. They take two, three or four people out fishing 150, 200 or 250 times a year.
“Just think about how many people they reach.”
Free food and drinks will be provided, as will special pricing offers on spoons, weights, jig heads, fishing line and more.
“It’s stuff they use day-in and day-out,” Chagnard said. “They can buy in bulk by the hundreds, 500 or a thousand, and the manufacturers come here with some fantastic factory deals.”
And if you’re not a guide but you want a great deal, don’t fret — the public is invited to Chag’s annual fishing tackle tent sale this Friday through Sunday, April 4-6.
Factory reps from Daiwa, Shimano and CastAway will be available all weekend with special prices to get you ready for fishing this spring, all from a 5,600-square-foot tent set up in Chag’s parking lot.
Special offers from Lew’s, Matrix Shad, Vudu Shrimp, Versamaxx corks, Ugly Stik, Reel Dat Lures and more also will be featured.
Tent sale hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 9 a.m to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
