Barbera joins Sportsman staff

U.S. Department of Interior order mandates old rigs be removed, CCA says.

Lifelong Bayou State angler Sam Barbera has joined the Louisiana Sportsman staff as an account executive handling the Greater Baton Rouge market as well as some national accounts.

Barbera will also serve as host of Louisiana Sportsman TV.

“I’m really excited to have Louisiana, in one way or another, in my job title,” he said. “I grew up hunting and fishing here. It’s what makes me tick.”

The 43-year-old Baton Rouge resident is an avid Lake Pontchartrain angler, often pulling overweight speckled trout from the bridge stanchions along the Causeway.

Before joining Louisiana Sportsman, Barbera served as STAR tournament director for the Coastal Conservation Association. He was also a captain in the U.S. Army.
