Archery Shoot is former dream child’s idea

Proceeds from event will allow Dreams Come True to grant more wishes

The first annual archery shoot to benefit Dreams Come True will be held May 4 at 4 Seasons Archery Range in Opelousas. The event will be hosted by former dream child Josh Castille.

If ever there was a perfect example of paying it forward, this would be it. Josh’s dream came to fruition in 2010 when he was able to go bow hunting for deer; in an effort to give back to Dreams Come True, he came up with the idea to hold this archery contest.

Whether you just want to get in some bow practice or want to sign up with a few friends and find out who the most accurate shooter is, this is a great opportunity to raise some money for a great organization.

The cost is $40 for a two-man team or $25 for a single shooter. Each shooter must provide their own bow and arrows. Binoculars can be used, but no rangefinders will be permitted. Targets are typical 3D archery targets.

Children 11 years and under may participate if accompanied by an adult.

Novelty shots will also be sold three shots for $5.

Pre-registration is strongly recommended, but walk-ons are welcomed and will be added to a team. Walk-up registration will be from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. the morning of the event.

There will also be food, ice cold beverages, and a live and silent auction. Awards will be given to the contest winners.
