Okuma’s new Andros micro sized 2-speed lever drag reel sets the bar for what anglers can expect from a small reel.
This reel was designed to fish braided line and has tremendous line capacity for a reel this size. The unique design allows the reel to sit lower on the rod allowing Okuma to incorporate a larger diameter spool that increases line capacity as well as line pickup in a reel that features the same outside diameter as our competition.
The structure of the Andros features a unique 1-screw sideplate system that allows for quick removal, of the right sideplate for maintenance.
Combine all of this with the dual anti-reverse system, wet Carbonite drag system with Cal Sheets drag grease and, most importantly, the 17-4 grade helical cut stainless steel gears and you have a micro-size powerhouse reel built to tackle the giants.
This new reel series is also complimented with a very technical line of Andros jigging rods, featuring all ALPS components.
