Missing boater found dead in Lac des Allemands

Retired LSU AgCenter and commercial fisherman apparently fell from boat, drowned

The search for a missing boater ended Saturday (April 9) when the body of a retired LSU AgCenter agent and commercial fisherman was found in Lac des Allemands, according to news reports.

The body of Larry Brock was found after a three-day search that began when another commercial fisherman found Brock’s empty boat running circls in the lake.

Authorities say Brock apparently was setting out hoop nets for catfish near his home when he fell from his boat.

The (Houma) Courier said Brock’s body was found Saturday floating not far from where the search had been centered.
