Fishing regulations still apply, but no license is necessary for fresh or salt water fishing this Saturday and Sunday, LDWF says
If you’ve never had a Louisiana fishing license, or if you want to sneak in a little saltwater fishing before the fee increase hits, this is your weekend to do it.
Louisiana’s free fishing weekend is slated for June 7-8, and state residents of all ages can fish without a license on any of the state’s public waters, according to a press release from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
The annual event, which LDWF hopes will introduce newcomers to one of Louisiana’s favorite past times, allows fishing without a license on all public bodies of water. However, fishing regulations and limits still apply.
