LDWF to conduct aerial spraying on Spring Bayou Wednesday

325 acres to be treated with herbicide to control aquatic vegetation

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries will conduct an aerial herbicide application on Spring Bayou in Avoyelles Parish Wednesday, Aug. 20 to control American lotus.

Because of the large floating pads, navigating the waterbody has become difficult, according to a press release.

Anglers and boaters are urged to stay clear of treatment areas on Wednesday.
