Jindal, Vitter, Cassidy to speak during CCA banquet

Gov. Bobby Jindal, Sen. David Vitter, U.S. Rep. Bill Cassidy will be among numerous public officials to address conservationists during the Coastal Conservation Association’s annual State Convention March 5-6 in Baton Rouge. The governor’s keynote address will be part of CCA’s awards banquet and dinner on March 5.

Vitter, Cassidy, state Sen. Nick Gautreaux, state Rep. Gordon Dove, Governor’s Office of Coastal Activities Director Garret Graves, Secretary of Wildlife and Fisheries Robert Barham as well as many other high-ranking state and federal fisheries management officials will address the CCA Louisiana State Convention on March 6.

“The convention will be a great event,” CCA Louisiana Director of Development Rad Trascher said. “We are very excited to have such great speakers address our members. Having this line-up speaks volumes about the important position CCA plays in Louisiana’s marine conservation movement.”

Other speakers include Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Assistant Secretary of Fisheries Randy Pausina, Tim Osborn of NOAA, and numerous officials from CCA’s national office. The Saturday speeches at the Hilton Capitol Center will be from 9 a.m. to noon.

In addition to the great speakers, registrants will enjoy a tour of LSU Tiger Stadium on Friday afternoon, a banquet on Friday night and the much-anticipated Chapter Cook-Off and Tailgate Party on Saturday night.

Registration is $100 per person or $150 per couple, which includes admission, meals and drinks for both the Friday and Saturday events.  Separate banquet tickets for Friday night are available for $75 per person and Cook-Off tickets for Saturday night are $50 a person.
