In search of speckled trout at the Chandeleur Islands

Late spring is a great time to venture out to the Louisiana barrier islands in search of big speckled trout. There are many barrier islands, all of which are capable of delivering excellent fishing, but none are as legendary as the Chandeleur Islands chain. There are risks associated with fishing on these remote islands and those venturing out to the islands need to know the hazards and be prepared.
