Meet Sportsman authors at this weekend’s Sportsmen’s Show

There will be plenty to see and do at this weekend’s Louisiana Sportsmen’s Show and Festival in Gonzales. Louisiana Sportsman will be on hand, represented by some of the magazine’s contributing writers, who will be available for book signings throughout the three days.

Louisiana Sportsman Editor Todd Masson, author of “Specks, Louisiana’s top 10 trout destinations and exactly how to fish them year-round” and co-author of “The Great New Orleans Gun Grab,” will be in attendance Saturday (March 13) at 6-9 p.m., and Sunday, March 14, 12-6 p.m.

Author and columnist Gordon Hutchinson, “The Quest and the Quarry” and “The Great New Orleans Gun Grab,” will be available to sign his books and chat with attendees on Sunday, March 14, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Jerald Horst, author of the popular book “Trout Masters: How Louisiana’s Best Anglers Catch the Lunkers,” will also be present. Horst will be signing books over the entire weekend of the show, and will be taking part in the Meet the Trout Masters Seminar held on March 14 at 1 p.m. The event will be emceed by outdoor personality Don Dubuc, and for the first time will bring together the 14 speckled-trout anglers featured in Horst’s book.

David “T-Coon” Billeaud, Will Drost, Harry Hildebrand, John “Charlie” Lieux, Jeff and Mary Poe, Edison “Ed” Sexton, Kirk, Guy and Bobby Stansel, Terry St. Cyr, Allen “Chink” Sumas Jr., Ulysse “Bootsie” Toups Jr. and Dudley Vandenborre Jr. are all scheduled to appear.

Books will be on sale at the event.

The Sportsmen’s Show is being held at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center on Friday, March 12, 2-9 p.m., Saturday, March 13, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday, March 14, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for kids and free for military in uniform.
