Galliano, PAC, more Cocodrie waters reopened for fishing today (June 17)

Waters west of Galliano, including Pointe-aux-Chenes Wildlife Management Area, and a portion of waters south of Cocodrie were reopened for recreational and commercial fishing today just before noon today (June 17) by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.

Now open for fishing are inshore waters north of Catfish Lake’s southern shoreline between 29 degrees, 21 minutes, 42 seconds north latitude and 29 degrees, 30 minutes, 00 seconds north latitude from the western shore of Bayou Lafourche westwatd to the eastern shore of Bayou Terrebonne.

Also opened were inshore waters between 29 degrees, 08 minutes, 19 seconds north latitude from the Houma Canal red buoy line west to 90 degrees 39 minutes, 26.8 seconds west latitude.

The action also reopened fishing in most of the waters between 29 degrees, 05 minutes, 00 seconds north latitude and south of 29 degrees, 08 minutes, 19 seconds north latitude from the Houma Navigational Canal red buoy line west to 90 degrees, 49 minutes, 00 minutes.

However, remaining closed in this area are inside waters near Bay Blanc between 29 degrees, 07 minutes, 19 seconds north latitude and 29 degrees, 09 minutes, 04 seconds north latitude between 90 degrees, 42 minutes, 46 seconds west longitude and 90 degrees, 44 minutes, 47 seconds west longitude.

Also reopened were state inside and outside waters south of 29 degrees, 05 minutes, 00 seconds north latitude west of 90 degrees, 46 minutes, 01 seconds west longitude.

All other closures remain in effect.
