Minnow buckets. Trip to the live bait store. Batteries for the aerator. Little tiny scales all over your hands and pants. And when they’re gone, they’re gone. Using live minnows does have its drawbacks.
That’s exactly why Bobby Garland crappie baits introduced its new Scent Wiggl’R; it’s like having your minnow and smelling it, too.
The 2 1/2-inch Scent Wiggl’R is a segmented crappie bait with scent cooked in during the manufacturing process so it’s there to stay. It definitely has a minnow shape, complete with a head and tail, but it does look different because of the two round body parts in between.
The reason for the four different segments is that the bait can be separated so than any one body part can be added as an enticing scent nugget to any crappie jig. All but the tail are of equal size and fit perfectly behind most jig bodies. The tail can be used by itself, too, providing smell and action to even the most ho-hum jig.
The tail comes from Garland’s popular Baby Shad series, so you know it’s lively in the water. What that means is that the Scent Wiggl’R is also an awesome standalone jig when fished just like it comes right out of the package.
The Scent Wiggl’R is made to fit and work perfectly with Garland’s new Minnow Mind’R, a split tail version of the popular Slab Slay’R series. The Minnow Mind’R can be fished alone, too, but it is really made for use with a live minnow or this Scent Wiggl’R, providing flash and scent to a crappie jig.
The Scent Wiggl’R comes in 12 colors, solids and laminates, all of which are bright hues to meet a variety of conditions. Included in the color lineup are seven Garland Mo’ Glo glow-in-the-dark colors, including three new ones: Electric Chicken Glo, Twilight and Sunrise.
