Bank fishing might not be as equipment intensive as fishing from a boat, but Prairieville angler Aaron Langlois said bringing the right gear makes the experience a lot more pleasant.
“The essentials that I always bring are a little fold-out chair, ice chests and plenty water to drink,” Langlois said. “And depending on where I\’m fishing, I may bring one pole or I may bring five.”
No matter how many poles he uses, Langlois brings along some 5-gallon buckets he uses for rod holders.
All he does is fill them with a few river rocks and a little river water at the bottom and crams his pole down in there with the rocks.
“Then all I do is spread them out a little bit, sit back and watch the rod tips,” he concluded. “It\’s not all that advanced, but it works for me.”
