Cameron man’s body recovered Monday in Calcasieu River

Victim was reportedly ejected from his boat Friday afternoon, LDWF says

The body of a 44-year-old Cameron man who was ejected from his boat Friday afternoon was recovered Monday morning, according to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.

Search and rescue teams found Ronald B. Moore’s body in the East Pass of the Calcasieu River near Cameron about 9 a.m. today, according to a press release.

Witnesses reported hearing a noise Friday afternoon around 4 p.m. and then saw Moore in the water while his 16-foot aluminum boat circled him. Shortly after that, he disappeared, the release states.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing, and officials don’t currently know why Moore was ejected from the boat, the release states.

LDWF spokesman Adam Einck confirmed that Moore was not wearing a personal flotation device when the accident occurred.
