Bonnabel Boat Launch to close for repairs starting Oct. 13

Ramp improvements should be complete by February 2016, LDWF says

The Bonnabel Boat Launch on the south shore of Lake Pontchartrain will close starting next week for about four months for ramp improvements, according to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.

The launch will close on Tuesday, Oct. 13 and is scheduled to reopen sometime next February after four boat ramps will be replaced and extended.

Improvements to the launch are being funded through the Wallop-Breaux Boating Access Program administered by LDWF and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, with Jefferson Parish providing matching funds and continued maintenance for the facility, according to a press release.

During the closure, boaters can access Lake Pontchartrain at Seabrook Boat Launch in New Orleans and at the Williams Boat Launch in Kenner, the release states.
