Video: Tips on keeping bass alive in a livewell

FLW pro shares step-by-step instructions

With the dog days of summer looming, heat and humidity are about to make life pretty miserable for everyone for at least the next four months.

That means water temperatures will be steadily rising, too — but it’s also a big tournament time if you’re a bass angler, so keeping fish alive and kicking in your livewell during a full day of fishing is a must.

FLW pro Jonathan Henry shot a great video with Wired2Fish that details the steps he takes —starting before he even launches in the morning — to ensure his fish will be alive for weigh-in.

From adding ice, to how he sets his pumps and aerators, to what additives he likes to use with the water, Henry does a great job of explaining in detail how he operates his livewell during a full tournament day on the water.

Check it out so you don’t lose any fish this summer.
