Sabine River regulations

In the Sabine River proper, anglers with Louisiana and Texas fishing licenses must obey a 14-inch minimum length limit and an eight-bass bag limit.

In non-shared waters off the Sabine River, anglers must be properly licensed by their respective state and follow the specific regulations pertaining to the sections of the areas they fish.

Anglers can check with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to ensure they are properly licensed and that they know which creel and length limits are in effect where they are launching and fishing.

Many anglers carry both Louisiana and non-resident Texas fishing licenses so they can take advantage of the bass fishing in connected waters within the Lone Star state.

Although these regulations are confusing, the Sabine River bounty awaiting Louisiana anglers is certainly worth the trip.
