Bassmaster Elite Series scheduled to return to Toledo Bend in 2014

Elite stop No. 4 slated for May 1-4 in Many

The Bassmaster Elite Series will return to Toledo Bend Reservoir next May on the fourth stop of the 2014 tournament schedule.

It will mark B.A.S.S.’s 15th visit to Toledo Bend, and it will be the ninth time Many has played host.

The most recent stops were Elite events in 2011 and 2012 won by Dean Rojas and Brent Chapman, respectively. In 1970, during B.A.S.S.’s first visit to Toledo Bend, Roland Martin fished his first event and finished second.

In addition to the new schedule, Bassmaster also announced that for the first time in tournament history, the ninth and final event of the Elite Series will be the Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year Championship in which the Top 50 anglers will compete for a share of the $900,000 Angler of the Year payout.

The Elite series also will grow to nine tournaments next year, including one featuring a “BASSfest” reminiscent of old summertime Bassmaster Classics with a $1 million prize purse.
