Amite River boating accident Tuesday evening kills Livingston Parish woman

Incident occurred about 6:30 p.m. near Pete’s Landing, LDWF said

A 59-year-old Livingston Parish woman died Tuesday evening when a 17-foot surface drive vessel driven by her husband apparently hit a tree, according to a press release from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.

Deborah Ledoux was killed after the boat hit the tree near Pete’s Landing in the Killian area about 6:30 p.m., the release states.

Her husband, Richard Ledoux, 58, was airlifted to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge with non-life threatening injuries, according to the release.
