Marsh Man Masson crushed the fish at this hotspot

Right now in the marshes of South Louisiana, it’s almost impossible to catch only one species of fish. Dangle almost anything in the water, and it’s going to get bit, but you can never be positive of what exactly will be doing the biting.

The marshes are just loaded to the gills with feeding fish of all flavors.

But on a trip this week to the marshes of lower Plaquemines Parish, Jeff Bruhl and I ended the morning with almost a clean slate, flipping and pitching to chunky bass from almost the very first cast. We DID bump into another species, but it was one we didn’t mind catching at all.
