Inshore trout haul shows fall is here!

A scorching-hot summer refuses to lessen its grip on the region, but the annual speckled trout migration from outside bays to the inside marshes is driven more by photoperiod and bait stocks than temperature, so this week, I set out to see if the fish could get me in an autumn frame of mind despite the warm air.

Fortunately, some super active and hungry specks did exactly that, escorting me in one morning from the season of barbecue, fireworks and baseball to one of pumpkins, football and super easy fishing.
