Seth Andrus got this Area 6 buck that scored right at 150 inches on Dec. 18 at Brushy Bayou Hunting Club.
“This hunt began Aug. 14. I was sleeping and phone rang at 4:45 in the morning it was my friend Si calling me with much excitement saying I had to look at our cell cam pics. This buck showed up the first night we put our cameras out and had vines all in his horns. We knew this buck was special but little did I know how much it would mean to me. Hours and hours went into planning and figuring out how we would kill this buck together. Then my world changed on Aug. 28 my parents came home to deliver terrible news that my best friend for over 10 years passed away in a work related accident. I knew that even though Si was not physically with me in the stand he was always sitting in the tree with me. I made a promise to myself that I would do everything I could to kill this buck. After long hours in the woods and this buck showing up when I was not able to hunt I was finally able to get a shot at him Dec. 18 at 6:50 a.m. I immediately called everyone I knew because I was so shocked to get a shot at this buck. After tracking him for 400 yards and having to get a dog then a drone to fly over we finally found him Tuesday morning 700 yards from where I shot him at laid up in palmettos. This buck is the biggest deer I have ever killed scoring right at 150 inches. This buck will always be special to me and I thank all my family at Brushy Bayou Hunting Club for the help and support during my chase with this buck.”
