Randi Menard of Kaplan, La., a 33-year-old mother of two, was hunting with her boyfriend, Derek, on Oct. 15 when she took her first buck.
“On the evening of Oct. 15, I went out hunting with my boyfriend, only sitting in a deer stand for the second time in my life. I am not the avid hunter, even though my entire family is. I decided to take up the sport with Derek (boyfriend) and went sit in the stand .The only way we were going is for me to land one, as he has killed many in his time. After sitting for a little over an hour, out walked this guy and I took the shot (having never shot anything before) and landed him. I am severely humbled at this opportunity and wanted to share this with you.”
