Grey Weir, 8, killed his second and best buck during the youth hunt weekend 2023 hunting in Red River Parish with his family! It was a 222-pound bruiser! He was in the box stand with his dad, mom and sister! His focus was originally the does that stepped out first, but then he spotted this buck hitting a licking branch and his focus quickly switched to it. The buck made his way into the field and quickly turned broadside with his head down feeding. Grey used his 350 Legend that put the buck down with one shot. The deer ran off, so we gave him about an hour. They waited on a cousin and uncles as they finished their hunt before meeting up to start the recovery. They trailed him for about 100 yards before finding him piled up dead. It was an exciting hunt for the whole family! These memories will last forever! Glory to God, who is our Lord and Savior…creator of all things!
