Derek Domingue harvested this big Atchafalaya Basin buck on Jan. 6, 2023 at 7:15 a.m.
“I hunted this deer for 2 weeks straight seeing doe’s almost every hunt, seeing a smaller buck once and that morning the sound of water splashing is what got my attention a doe had trotted out by me and walked about 15 feet under my stand. At about 50 yards behind her he stepped out into the pipeline. He got behind some bushes and all I could see was his rack. Finally he started walking from behind and gave me a broadside shot at 35 yards and I took it. He shot out like lighting and then the crash he was down and out.”
