Chase Duncan of Catahoula Parish killed this big buck on Nov. 26 at his camp in Natchitoches Parish. The deer scored 144 7/8 and his G2 was 14 1/2 inches long.
“I’d been getting photos of this deer all year but could never catch up to him. I got a pic of him on Tuesday at noon in the daylight and had a Thanksgiving to go to on Friday. Friday morning the Thanksgiving got canceled so I had free time so I loaded my stuff up and was going to make an evening hunt and I got 2 miles from my camp and my transmission went out in my truck so I coasted to the camp and was thinking about what I was going to do about the truck then I thought to myself I can think about that on the deer stand so I finally made it to the stand and he stepped out at 150 yards at about 4 p.m. and it was over with.”
