Cecilia Musso, 7, has been practicing with her crossbow since last hunting season. She hunted this 8-point with her dad on their property in Avoyelles Parish throughout velvet season, but he showed up just out of reach where she couldn’t get a shot. On Oct. 2, 2026, she checked out of school to get to the stand early, and it paid off! She made a great shot at 20 yards with her crossbow.
