“On Nov. 29, Brayden Barron, 10, was hunting with his dad near Palmetto, La., when a deer walked out. He got his gun ready and at that time another deer walked out. He set his scope on the second deer and shot. The deer buckled up then they both ran back into the brush. He said the deer looked like a doe, but didn’t get a good look because the sun was going down. They waited a while then went to look for blood. They found a few drops but not a lot so they decided to call someone with a dog since this was Brayden’s first deer. The guy came with the dog and within a few minutes they found the deer. We were all excited and headed into the brush and were all surprised that it was indeed not a doe but a 10-point buck. Brayden was so excited. It had a 16-inch spread. He will be mounting the deer for his room.”
