This 34-inch redfish was caught by Owen Brewer, Jr. on June 28, 2024 on a trip with his son, O.D. Brewer III, to south Lake Raccourci out of Point aux Chenes Marina.
“Although I am 76 years young, a military veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force, with multiple health challenges that are age related, fishing remains my passion and I venture out whenever I can!
At the launch, we received assistance moving into our boat, the FV Mary Lou, from a marina employee who has two relatives who are military veterans.
It was hotter than Mojave on the water, so we cut our trip a bit short, returning to the launch around 2:30 p.m., where we once again received assistance from yet another Good Samaritan!
Just goes to show how good fishermen step up and deliver when another fisherman can use a bit of help!”
