Justin Bordelon caught this 8.2-pound, 27 ¼-inch Lake Pontchartrain striped bass out of Seabrook in New Orleans. He was drop shot fishing Marker 54 shrimp.
“This is well over my 100th striper of the year with my biggest so far following a 4.8 personal best striper I caught two months ago. They all range from 10-20 inches on average. I started targeting these fish at night in the beginning of the year and we finally got a decent striper. We go out almost every night as I live 6 minutes away and we average five to 10 stripers depending on current and water clarity. We’ve been catching a lot of nice hybrids, redfish, speckled trout, striped bass and flounder, all within 1 mile of the boat launch. All fish are caught on artificial lures.”
