On June 2, my wife and I tried to go red snapper fishing out of Venice. The Gulf was too rough, so we decided to fish inland. We were fishing with live shrimp under a popping cork at Sandy Point Bay. My wife, Erin Soniat, caught the biggest sheepshead I have ever seen. It weighed 7.4 pounds at Venice Marina.
