Right now, a host of panfish species are snugged up against cypress trees — and the lily pads around them — making next year’s crop of panfish.
My son, Joel, had a rare day off of work, so he and I went to the Tchefuncte River to see how many we could catch, and the action began almost immediately. We caught all we wanted, and left them biting!
Species included crappie, bluegill, pumpkinseed, bass, goggleye and chinquapin. Check out the video for all the details!
