“I decided to go hunt a WMA I’d never been to before. I used OnX for weeks leading up to the trip. Found a campground to tent camp that I could access the ATV trails from. After picking a spot that looked like the beginning of an old slough and hunting two sits at, I decided to switch spots. After going back to the camp and getting lunch. I decided to head out mid day to quickly scout to make an afternoon hunt. After roughly walking 1000 yards, I decided to set up next to a bayou that was holding about 10 to 12 inches of water. After only about 30 minutes of sitting, this stud of a buck came walking down the side of the bayou paired up with a doe. I was able to double lung shot him, but that did not stop him. He ran straight to me then stopped 20 yards from my tree where I was able to put another shot in him to seal the deal. And that’s when the work started.”
