On Jan. 1, 2026, Britni Arceneaux went on an afternoon hunt in St. Landry Parish and got this 8-point buck. This was her first harvest with the beautiful Maple Browning X Bolt 308 her husband and son bought her for Christmas last year.
“With 6 minutes left of daylight, this 8-point came out 15 yards from the stand and turned down the shooting lane facing away. I let out a quick “Mrrrrmp” and he turned to the right, quartering away. Found him in the scope, clicked off safety, aimed mid-body to get vitals. He jogged off about 30 yards and fell down in the same shooting lane. I hadn’t gotten those kind of shakes in a while!”
