I purchased a Gatortail this November, I wanted my own boat for Duck season. This was a purchase that I wished, I did not do! On my first trip the motor vibrated so bad I had to switch hands to drive. On the second trip my trim button broke. I have been on sevaral trips and putting up with this horrible vibration. Then the last weekend of duck season, I noticed that their was a oil leak between the case and back half, near oil filter.

Is their anyone having these same issues. Gator tail said that the oil leak is the motor manufacture problem. Under further investigation my Gator tail is not the only one.

Well, to the guys who were chasing the ducks in Lake salvador. I heard u got caught. I heard of a guy chasing the birds and killing over 1 hundred. This is the person who needs to get caught. You are killing the next generation of duck hunters. All I heard is how great the hunting was all over the state this weekend. A person like u will make it bad for the future hunters.....YES, YOUR KIDS!!

My friend second year hunting ducks. He shot a woodie this morning. Well he got busted. He has never been in trouble with wildlife and fisheries. He was telling me he is quiting hunting ducks. I tried to tell him u made a mistake and dont let this stop u from enjoying a great sport. We all as hunters made a few shots that we should not have taken... Well come to find out the guys who were hunting this area last weekend took over the limit of woodies. The game warden was cool and told him,u shot one and when you noticed what it was u stoped. The other guys kept shooting them. Well, my question is can anyone tell me what the fine might be for him. The game warden said since he never been in trouble he might get off with a warning... maybe.

Hey, guys does anyone know of a camping spot near Thistlethwaite management area. Beside sherborne.

September 09, 2010 at 8:37pm

Well here we go again! Maybe they are trying to keep people off the islands. I forget the gentleman name, he was on the news walking on some of the barriere islands showing the oil under the sand. I spent the last 2 weekends out on G.I. and I did not see one drop of oil. I did see alot of workers sitting on their butt and alot of tents and nobody under them. So once again, thanks obama and r governor..

How can they close the islands and 2 r three commisioners did not know about this... Welcome to Louisiana!!!!!!!

No to scare anybody. I heard that a local place in south louisiana had a couple of encounters with people getting hit by sharks. They said bull shark,'they said'. They said, because of the lack of people in the water they will come in to see whats up. Just found out they r putting up some signs to warn people. This person I talked to lives full time in this area. Iam very sorry not to say what area, because we need the people to return to sport of fishing. So where u fish... everybody be safe!!

Can anybody give me some hints on how to clean a shark. I have cleaned alot of fish, but not a shark.

This really burns a hole in my britches! I was at work and guy was talking about the oil spill. As we continue to talk and I was telling him how so many of my friends are in a big bind because of this spill. They are all commercial fisherman. HE THEN STATED TO ME THAT HE ALSO FILED A CLAIM AGAINST BP... I SAID SIR U R A FISHERMAN AND HE HAD THE NERVE TO TELL ME NO I CUT GRASS!!!. I almost blew a gasket. So I asked what did u loose-I was being nice. He must of knew I was fishing, never got the answer from him. This is my opinion.I will support all fisherman, weather they are comm.recreational are charter. This to me is fraud. Maybe Iam right, maybe not.

Counted 15 different hogs on La3127 in St charles parish. I have seen a few dead ones in the hahnville canal over the years. These pigs were all about 20 to 30 lbs. seen one big sal she stayed off in the woods a little. Just letting the deer hunters in the area know, that have private land. They are breeding and these were not piglets to long ago.

July 25, 2010 at 9:33pm

Went to do some fishing in G.I.- lastnight. I procedded to a honey hole behind the water tower on La 1. Take in mind I was very cautious. I was traveling about 25mph had my gps and everything was fine. Was about 15 ft of the bank, my nephew yelled boom(it was to late) my motor kicked up and all I saw was my buddys going forward. My first priority was the wellfare of my nephews. Minor injuries. I will make a phone call Monday to the coast guard and ask, why when the booms are laid across such a wide area that they are not marked. So after that had a little motor trouble and had to head back home. Everybody was wearing their life jackets...they do save lives.

I bought one of those crappy boats from bent marine. Take in mind,' they just sold me this lemon', they did not make it. It is a kirkland.
My question is when I put gas in the tank and it will spit back at me. This has a vent made to the gas spout. The boat is a 2007. Can anybody refer me to a place that can fix this. Please do not say Bents!! They tried several times to fix this and gave up when the manufacturer went belly up.

My nephew was riding in his dads mud boat from pier 90. He called me and said he was having motor problems. I was in bayou cuba,so I turned around and went to find them. As i was aproaching them a bass boat flew right by them and never slowed down, also most sinking them. We fixed the boat and made it to the tank ponds. I was really upset about this guy not slowing down. I contacted the Wildlife enforcement and asked was their a law for this type of action. They said their is no law, that said they have to slow down. They said it is a(curtious) thing!!They said a boat operator is responsible for the action of their wake and any damamge they cause. Well on the way back in the muffler had broke and landed on the gas tank, melted the tank but no fuel leak. Well Thank u lord I was in the right place at the right time. The motor for some reason backfired and the boat was on fire. I was able to get to them fast and exstiguish the fire I was telling them to jump in the water and swim to the bank while I was getting to them. They had what I call gator shock! We just seen about a 15 foot monster in the tank pond. So they jumped into my boat and I asked why did u not jump in, THEY SAID LOOK ON THE BANK--THEIR HE WAS A 6 FOOTER AND HE LOOKED HUNGRY Well everybody is alright and the gator is still hungry!!

A comment titled: motor in response to a report titled: Ford 7.3L vs 6.0L

The 6.0 have defective head gaskets. has a egr cooler that leaks due to a poor design. Their is a after market egr tube which has round tubes, insted of flat ones that ford is using and it takes care of the problem. The injectors are a big problem due- agagin to poor design. This motor is oil injector fired. Oil changes will help. Ford recommends every 250 hrs oil changes. But could hit the pocket hard. The old 7.3 is a good motor if it is all mechanicle. The 6.4 is good but has a problem with turbos failing. The chevy duramax is having trouble with their injectors

I have been fishing since the day I was born in Florida and moved here to louisiana at the age of 7. I know we fought to go back to fishing in this great state. I know the water real good and fish it at night all the time. my gps is only for the land layout and not used to follow. I do have the right to ask why? If the fishing was allowed back in this area why is the boom stretched about thousand yards across a main water way. If they r still concern with oil in this area close it off. I do support the oil clean up and should be (safe) for all fisherman. Safety is why we are in this crisis right know. Thanks for ur comment. Just a way to let everyone to be safe.

A comment titled: c/r in response to a report titled: No more catch and release, Commission rescinds policy

I am for the catch and release. Iam very glad that three people voted yes.
They have done research on 1 thousand tissue samples from fish in the marsh and gulf. To date they could not find no signs of hydrcarbons, in any of the fish.

Now, lets take a look at fishing in a closed area. You and me We take r boats from a clean and not infected bay of water. We go fishing( in an area so said has oil). We fish all day. We now return to the dock and guess what could be on ur boat,Yes! oil. I have seen several boats at local repair shops in surounding parishes with oil on the hauls. Maybe this could be why they voted no.

Guys, this hurts everyone of us. the rec. fisherman to the commercial fisherman.

i have a friend who is a comercial fisherman went to do the vessel of oppertunity today and said they have over 7 hundred boat waitng to go work...This is where the problem is.

Their is still drill pipe in the way. I wonder why they dont put a valve on top of the riser and shut it off. Maybe if bp stops they cant no longer drill from that well....

A comment titled: saw in response to a report titled: Saw blade stuck: Why cut the pipe from the bottom?

these rov tech r very highly trained. the news make it seems so bad and its not. The diamond cutting saw that got stuck on the bop today ,this is a normal thing for this saw to break. Also guys remember their is more then one pipe in this riser. This diamond cutting saw is like a band saw just way bigger. The question to BP should be why this was not done 30 days ago.

A comment titled: RIGS in response to a report titled: obomas effects

Iam not against the drilling. Iam against the faulty bops that are not up to par. I worked offshore and no strangers to this comment. I have been told that all bop must have another shear device put on them. This could take several months to design. The (MMS) needs to be under new management. Their must be a plan developed, so if this happens they can repair the bop from the depths they work. Their must be a way to remove the drill stem. If I stand correct most of oil is not used by us.We use alot of foreign oil. But most off all lets pray and stop the leak first and (PRAY FOR ALL THE FAMILYS THAT DEPEND ON THE GULF AND MARSHES FOR A LIVING).
