A comment titled: Public land in response to a report titled: what happened to the sportsmen in this sportsman's paradise !!!!

I hunt on private land now because public land is too uncontrolled. I grew up hunting public land in another state, the high pressure public areas were controlled there. You had to check in with a ranger to get your permit, only so many hunters were permitted in a given block of land, and it was first come/first served. Louisiana really needs this.

Buckstalker seems to think its his land, or "their" land because they might live closer to it. Dead F'in wrong. If its state run, its for the citizens of La, In the case of Kisatchie, its a NATIONAL forest, that belongs to everyone in the US, not just La either. Buckstalker is full of crap too, Im confident that what a moron like that says never happened. Hes obviously too stupid to realize he could go to jail for interfering with a lawful hunt and assault and battery. He would also have been subject to a civil suit and lost everything he owned, or been paying for years. He sounds like a 15 yr old.

If somebody in the woods with a weapon at hand assaulted me, he would not live to leave. Especially a POS like Buckstalker. Somebody would have to be REALLY REALLY stupid to assault someone with a gun anyway.

everyones got opinions for different reasons. Personally, I dont want either of them here. I much prefer to give my business to a smaller local retailer, even pay a higher price for some items. And if I do want to buy something expensive and save a few $$, Id still like to be able to mailorder it and not pay tax on it. Not any more.

My brother and me were sighting in our rifles when we were teenagers. We were on a graded logging rd that had a big dirtpile pushed up at the end , and we were shooting against the dirt pile. We had been at it for a while, probably had shot 10 times. My brother got my attention, and I turned to see 2 bucks walking down the rd toward us, about 50-75 yds behind us. When we turned around, they vanished into the woods. When we went back and looked at their tracks, they had walked about 100 yds toward us while we were shooting. They were obviously curious about what we were doing, but werent alarmed until they knew we saw them.

If your cleaning good and loading consistently, you should do better than that. I shoot 245 grain powerbelts with 100 grain, and get about 3-4" group at 100 yds, with an occasional flyer.

Each gun may prefer a different bullet type, wt, and powder to perform best.

Are you loading the pellets with the black side down?
